BEST Leuven Game Jam 2025
DeParted is a small survival horror game about an eye that needs to find the rest of the body parts to escape the mansion. The core mechanic is that you find and attach body parts that make movement easier.

What went well:
Team work went really well. We respected everyone's opinions and found solution or compromises in cases of disagreements. Also the ideation for game design was really fun. I wrote down all the ideas from everyone and organised some structured brainstorming sessions which helped us come up with ideas that everyone was happy with. Also everyone was really hard working.
What do I know for next time:
I learned a lot about project management because on the last day of the game jam I made a planning for everyone to make sure everyone knows what needs to be worked on and how much time they have planned in for it. This was really helpful for the team because then they had clear direction on what to do and for how long. Also in the end we didn't have enough time to playtest and fix bugs so I now know that way more time needs to be planned in for this.
