Allie Meet Alles
In a group of 9 people we made a project for our client by working one day each week during one semester. Our client is a middle school teacher and we were tasked to make a game to teach the children about measuring and estimating.

My Work
Art:
We were mainly two artists in the team. I contributed on establishing the art style, looked at references and created an art bible. My main goal was to make a consistent, easily readable art style so the children playing our game would easily recognize the objects.

Art Bible: Shape language

Challenges:
The objects had to all be around the right size compared to each other as we had an outline on the objects that had to stay consistent so the objects should not be scaled in engine.

Main task:
After working out the art style and making the art bible I worked out the composition of the mini games and then mainly made interactable objects, UI and the isometric buildings on the main hub.

What went well:
Working together with Xander, the rest of the team and the client worked really well. We were able to get to decide on an artstyle everyone was happy with. During the process we got a lot of feedback on certain assets, certain colours and we were always able to implement these changes.
What I learned:
Even though the workload for art seemed really big in the beginning, we managed to get through everything very well without needing to rush everything. So I now know that you can achieve quite a lot even with a small number of artists compared to the rest of the team.
